What to know & understand about Disabled Swimming - Presentation by: Gail Bohler

Further notes from Gail - FYI:

"The website for the online technical official course is http://www.ipc-academy.org. The course is under online education."

"Had a look at how often a swimmer has to be classified, if a swimmer's condition is stable and is not going to change they get given a permanent classification. A swimmer whose medical condition is progressive may be given a date for review by the classification panel. A swimmer can also apply for a review classification, if they can prove there has been a change in their medical condition. If they are given a review date, they have to go again for a classification. A child may also be given a date for a review date, as they are still growing and this could affect how their disability affects their functioning. A swimmer does not have to go every two years unless the meet the above criteria. Not sure what the procedure will be if the classification rules change, but currently swimmers don't have to go for re-classification if there has been a rule change they keep their current classification."
